The North Hills Chorale Spring Concert

The North Hills Chorale presents its Spring Concerts, “American in Harmony: 250 Years of Song,” on Friday, May 8, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 10, at 2 p.m. at Vincentian’s St. Vincent Hall, 8150 McKnight Road, in McCandless Township. Celebrate Local Authors with For the Love of Books

Book lovers, mark your calendars: For the Love of Books returns Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at La Roche University (Zappala Center). Hosted by the AAUW North Hills Pittsburgh Branch, this annual fundraiser brings together three standout regional authors for an engaging panel and meet-and-greet.This year’s lineup includes psychologist and bereavement specialist Sherry Cormier, author of Sweet Sorrow; Michelle Maher, author of Bright Air Settling Around Us; and novelist Julie Tulba, whose latest book is Last Call Cairo. The morning begins with coffee, light refreshments, and book signings at 10 a.m., followed by time to browse vendors and raffle baskets, and wraps with a light lunch and dessert (gluten- and nut-free) alongside the author discussion. North Allegheny Speech and Debate Won State Championship

On March 21, North Allegheny Speech & Debate was crowned the 2026 Pennsylvania High School Speech League state champions. The Tigers triumphed in the Large School Division, defeating their archrivals Upper St. Clair and ending USC’s four-year reign. The Tigers, coached by IMS building substitute Dominic Moore, were the champions of Debate and Congress and runners-up in Public Address. Out of the 48 students who competed, 32 advanced to the elimination rounds. Several students earned state titles. Congratulations to the entire team!


Fox Chapel Area Students Candidates in Presidential Scholars Program

Fox Chapel Area High School seniors Michael Costello, Joanna Li, and Rodrigo Silva have been selected as candidates in the 2026 United States Presidential Scholars Program. Approximately 5,000 students from about 3.5 million high school seniors graduating this year from across the U.S. have been named candidates in this year’s program, and 168 are from Pennsylvania. Inclusion in the Presidential Scholars Program, begun in 1964, is one of the nation’s highest honors bestowed upon graduating high school seniors. Students are first selected for the program based on their superior academic achievements. They are then further evaluated on their academic achievements, leadership and service activities, and an analysis of a submitted essay. Approximately 650 students will be selected as semifinalists in the program, and students chosen as U.S. Presidential Scholars (up to 161) will be notified later this spring.


Independence Health System Welcomes Family Medicine Providers to Seven Fields Location

Hills, Independence Health System is welcoming two experienced providers to its Seven Fields primary care office this spring. Paul E. Lewis, MD, MPH, will begin seeing patients in May 2026 at the practice located at 300 Northpointe Circle, Suite 104, bringing more than 20 years of experience in family and occupational medicine. Board-certified in both specialties, Dr. Lewis focuses on preventive care, chronic disease management, routine screenings, and patient education, with a career that includes leadership roles in military and public health systems. Joining him is Allison Dix, PA-C, a Chatham University-trained, NCCPA board-certified physician assistant with nearly 25 years of experience across primary and cardiovascular care.
