Flowers in the Attic
Flowers in the Attic, located in Penn Hills, is the only all-in-one cafe, gift and florist shop in the Pittsburgh area. During the holidays, this already special venue transforms into a winter wonderland for guests of all ages. Beginning in early December, Flowers in the Attic offers Christmas High Teas starting at $29.99 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Bookings are only available for groups of 25 or more. Every high tea is catered to each guest’s tastes. Each booking includes tea sandwiches, scones, a variety of desserts and of course, a plethora of teas to sample. The Café at Frick
The Café at Frick is situated on The Frick estate in Point Breeze, along with other attractions to explore, such as an art museum and and Henry Clay Frick’s mansion. Just two years ago, the café underwent major renovations to better suit the needs of guests. During the holiday season, pop-up events and private reservations will be available to members and nonmembers alike. The café can only hold up to 30 guests inside, so booking early is recommended. Holiday tea does vary in price but will include finger sandwiches or mini bites, freshly baked scones, loose-leaf tea, local desserts and a variety of hors d’oeuvres. The Tearoom on Main
The Tearoom on Main in Saxonburg, (formerly Serendipi-Tea), offers an event space for bridal showers, birthday or graduation parties and even has a holiday high tea. From November 29 through December 31, The Tearoom on Main offers holiday high tea for guests of all ages. Each specialty holiday tea will offer three to four savory bites, unlimited tea, scones, soup and sweets. During the experience, guests can enjoy the sounds of Christmas music, as well as the seasonal decor surrounding the tea room. Each tea room can be reserved for a two-hour or three-hour session, plus an additional charge per person for catering. Reservations are highly recommended for weekdays and required on weekends. The Inn on Negley
The Inn on Negley in Shadyside is truly a mini escape without leaving the city. This venue is a beautifully restored, period style home-turned-inn. Boasting eight rooms, an outside porch area, as well as a few small event rooms, this vintage inn has everything a person could be looking for when it comes to antique design. High tea is offered year-round, either as a part of your stay or a separate private event. During the holidays, The Inn on Negley’s tea service is offered every day of the week, excluding Sundays and Mondays. All food is made in-house by Chef Nick and Chef Dana. Menus change weekly and vary per season. Pricing begins at $20 for children 12 and under and $45 for anyone 13 and above. Specialty hot chocolate can be added to each order for an additional $8. Subject to availability, dietary-restrictive menus can be offered. The Johnston House
Located in Mars, The Johnston House wasn’t always a tea room. When The Johnston House opened in 1987, it proudly displayed finer trinkets, linens, antiques and furniture for guests to peruse. In 1994, they added their first tea room. As the years progressed, they began hosting specialty events, including weddings. Currently, The Johnston House offers many private rooms catering to group sizes from 12 to 65 guests. During high tea, guests can enjoy seasonal quiches, tarts, savory bites, desserts and fine tea all made in-house.The Johnston House’s high tea is by reservation only.
