This Valentine’s Day may be a little different than we’re used to, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t still celebrate at home by picking up something special! A number of local restaurants and stores are offering special Valentine’s Day-themed prepared meals, dinner kits, artisan chocolates and more. Check out just a few of the suggestions below….
Waffles, Incaffeinated is offering a Mega-Velvet Waffle that makes us swoon! The red velvet waffle has blueberries and raspberries on the inside, and fresh berries tossed in the restaurant’s own vanilla bean syrup on top! Served with a mountain of whipped cream and their berry reduction sauce. For those looking for l’amour, check out the Washington Crepes, which includes three red velvet crepes filled with cherry-vanilla cream cheese and topped with lemon sorbet. These are while supplies last, so make plans to dine-in or call for takeout before the big day!
The Garden Café will have some special baked goods for Valentine's Day, including red velvet cupcakes and raspberry cheesecake brownies, all available at its takeout window at 1022 Chestnut Street on the Northside.
Siempre Algo at 414 East Ohio Street has a special Valentine’s Day takeout offer good for Friday, Feb. 12 and Sat., Feb. 13. For $65/person, you can enjoy a luxurious soup of lobster, blue crab, and shrimp with sherry and cognac, tomato, and tarragon; roasted beet, champagne and greens salad; boneless beef short rib, slow-cooked in red wine and veal demi-glace, with roasted root vegetable pavè with thyme and parmesan, swiss chard, and chantrelle mushroom conserva; a passion fruit tartlet with shortbread crust, passion fruit curd, kiwi, citrus, mango, berries, and elderflower glaze, and champagne. Service is curbside pickup only; dine-in is not available. Forma Pasta, a fresh pasta shop located in the Allentown section of Pittsburgh, is offering a Valentine’s Day dinner kit that includes a three-course dinner, featuring their handmade pasta, as well as a selection of local products, such as dinner rolls from Breadworks and cured meats from Salty Pork Bits. You can place your order on their website by clicking the order food button. Pickups begin February 10, so you can prepare this meal whenever you choose to celebrate.
Mediterra, with locations in Sewickley and Mt. Lebanon, is offering a variety of Valentine’s Day specials. Preorder-only deals include the Italian Date Night for Two Dinner for $125, featuring a basket containing a bottle of wine that pairs perfectly with their classic Rustichella pasta and housemade pasta sauce. It also includes all the fixings to make your own salad and a pre-made petite charcuterie, four truffles and a rose. Other offerings include a Blush Staycation Basket for $98 that transforms a night at home into a serene getaway; the Heart Breaker package for $50 that includes breakable white chocolate hearts filled with sweet treats; a Geometric Heart Hot Chocolate Bomb ($10); and Sugar Cookie Pizzas ($25), which are vanilla sugar cookies mixed, rolled and cut by hand.
DiAnoia's Eatery, nestled in the Strip District, is celebrating the holiday with a $68 per person menu that features five courses including a stracciatella and strawberry salad, baby octopus braised in tomatoes and sambuca, and ground venison with house-made rigatoni. The items will be served cold and come with reheating and preparation directions.
The northbound McKnight Road Eat’n Park located at 7370 McKnight Road will now have a drive-up takeout pickup window. To celebrate this added service, this location will be offering a FREE cup of coffee for guests with any takeout order through the pickup window starting on Monday, February 1 through Sunday, February 14 from 7am-11pm.
