Sharpsburg Library Donations Needed!
Many of our neighbors are currently experiencing food insecurity. As a result, we are in extreme need of donations for our Little Free Pantry located at Sharpsburg Community Library. Independence Day Extravaganza
Pittsburgh’s biggest Fourth of July celebration takes place over North Shore Riverfront Park and Grandview Park on Thursday, July 4, from 4:00 p.m. until the sky lights up at 9:35 p.m. Expect a full day of family-friendly activities, including a lively parade, live performances by regional acts like Tuesday Nite, Nash.V.ill, and The Billy Price Band, plus bounce houses, balloon rides, and a sprawling food truck roundup. A free shuttle connects both parks, so guests can hop between festivities with ease. The evening ends with a dazzling fireworks show over the city skyline—arguably the best seat in town for a patriotic finale.
17th Annual Shaler Great Gardens Tour Shows Great Personality
Gardeners are artists who work with shovels to express their personal creativity. You can enjoy their artistry with a walk through five spectacular gardens on Sunday, July 13, 2025 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm for the Shaler Garden Club’s Great Gardens Tour. Proceeds benefit the Shaler North Hills Library. Tickets for the tour can be purchased at the library, located at 1822 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA 15116, for $20 in advance of the tour, or $25 the day of the tour. Tickets are also available on the library’s website www.shalerlibrary.org. Your ticket includes hosted visits to five artistic and creative gardens and a chance to win a lovely gift basket. The event is held rain or shine.

Picklesburgh
For three deliciously quirky days, Downtown Pittsburgh’s PPG Plaza and Fort Duquesne Boulevard transforms into the tangiest celebration around with Picklesburgh, running Thursday, July 11 through Saturday, July 13 from midday to 9:00 p.m. each day. Enjoy everything from pickle popsicles to pickle beer while checking out demos from local chefs and the famous pickle juice drinking contest (yes, there’s a cash prize). A 35-foot Heinz pickle balloon sets the scene, while the Downtown Sound Stage keeps the vibe festive with live music. With international pickle flavors, artisan goods, and endless Instagram-worthy bites, this free festival is one you’ll want to relish.

Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix
Pittsburgh’s iconic 10‑day vintage car extravaganza returns to Schenley Park and the surrounding street circuit July 11–20. Expect thrilling races on the 2.3‑mile Schenley Oval (22+ turns, elevation changes), daily car shows, parades, street parties, live concerts, glitzy galas and countryside tours. The Panther Hollow Bridge detour adds fresh excitement. With hundreds of cars—from Lotus to pre‑war icons—and 200,000+ fans annually, PVGP drives nostalgia, community, and charitable support for autism services. Don’t miss the Garden Party at Phipps, the black‑tie Tailpipe Gala, or the Salon de Coches on the oval.

Pittsburgh Blues & Roots Festival
Honor blues legend Kip London with three soulful days July 25–27 at the Shrine Center Pavilion in Cheswick. Now the “Kip London Memorial,” the festival supports autism nonprofits and the Autism Society of Pittsburgh while presenting standout roots acts: The Nighthawks, Bill “Sauce Boss” Wharton, Solomon Hicks, Jason Born Band, Ron Yarosz and more. Northside Music Festival
July 18–20 brings a free, multi-venue music explosion to North Side venues across Deutschtown.
