Joe Beretta Foundation to Host Inaugural Hopeful Hearts River Cruise

The Joe Beretta Foundation will be hosting its inaugural Hopeful Hearts River Cruise fundraising event on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021 aboard the Gateway Clipper's Duchess Vessel. Guests will be able to enjoy a delicious meal, dancing, two drink tickets, fabulous entertainment and a tremendous silent auction as they sail the three rivers under Pittsburgh’s gorgeous skyline.

Tickets are priced at $125 each until July 30 as an early-bird special and $150 each afterwards. Casual cocktail attire is suggested for the evening. The event will follow both CDC and local guidelines for mitigating the spread of COVID-19.

The Joe Beretta Foundation was established to meet the practical needs of advanced heart failure patients and their families by providing them with emergency housing and financial stability during times of crisis, as well as emotional support. Only 3 percent of hospitals nationwide are able to treat this disease, so the vast majority of patients must travel long distance to receive life-saving care, resulting in fear, isolation and financial distress.

The foundation currently serves patients in four hospitals across two cities, including UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh. They also serve patients in three hospitals in the Nashville area, with aspirations of expanding their existing footprint. Since the foundation’s inception in 2016, they’ve assisted 650+ individuals and provided over 1,800 nights of stay for patients and their families.

“We’re overjoyed to be able to hold the inaugural Hopeful Hearts River Cruise on Pittsburgh’s three rivers this summer,” said Executive Director Davey Shepherd. “It will be an extraordinary and memorable evening for our guests, all while supporting such an incredible cause.”
